In vacation rental C202 we have updated the images for the front room. Spacious and clean with great acoustics, minimalist design allows for comfort and convenience.

Every year Jacarandas on Maui begin to bloom in April and by May they have spread a cloak of purple over Upcountry Maui.

While great big blossoms depend from the sky, roadsides and lawns lay littered in purple confetti.

In places where other flowers also splash across the view, a parade of colors can enchant and lift the spirit above the daily rote.

Jacarandas, officially “mimosifolia”, are hardy plants that can thrive on very little water. They are sometimes even considered weeds.

Even the smallest Jacaranda, when pulled from the ground, has a tap root at least as long as it’s height above ground.

• To use it right click

We have updated condo B211 that is now outfitted and arranged for more space. This deluxe unit is one of the most thematically decorated units at Luana Kai with furnishings from Tommy Bahama’s. As is the current trend in condo renovation the kitchen wall at the end of the bar has been removed. Check out this unit at the Luana Kai website with great big pictures and see if B211 or one of our other 60+ apartments fits as your choice for the perfect island holiday. Condo B106 is tiled for easy cleaning, beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you expect.

B106 is steps from the putting green and pool and is a garden view unit but  you can step off your lanai and see the sea.

A104 is a lovely unit with pergot flooring, shower upgrades and some other updates we’re sure you’ll love. Check it out!

In B202 we added a couple of lovely sunset pics from the owners. Sometimes the sky does appear as if on fire in Kihei.

B104 is wide open with the new wall-less kitchen style that’s been gaining in popularity of late.

B109 is another of the new wall-less kitchen updates that bring so much roominess to the units. The modern lighting is also a premiere attraction as are the newly tiled floors.

Have you been to Olowalu lately? Well your going to have to go and visit Leoda’s Pie Shop.

If you love pie, you’ll be in heaven but pie isn’t the only thing to grind oh no.

They have an entire fresh lunch menu to feats on prior to the main course.

Sandwiches, salads, burgers, fries but not your ordinary fare. No these are hand cut french fries, scallopped while you wait and cooked fresh.

The burgers are made with local beef,not flown in meats.

Even though their food is really just that good it is the pies you’ll want to die for.

The pies at Leoda’s will indeed bring you to bliss but what tempting recipe suits you best?

How about Apple Crumb, Yuzu-Lemon Tart, Banana Cream Pie, Macnut Choc Praline, Berry Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Or Coconut Cream?

Well don’t take too long there’s plenty of customers in line waiting for their next slice of heaven too.

Have you heard of Kapu?
Hey you should have! Some things are very Kapu in Hawaii. Like disrespecting the Aina (the Earth beneath your feet and the world upon it).
Not littering is an easy way to respect the Aina and keep Pono (righteous or right-acting).
Take care of the land. Your great grandchildren will need it too.

What word do you know that sounds Kapu? How about New Zealand’s Tapu? That’s right taboo comes from the same roots as Kapu.

Indeed Taboo is an anglicanization of  Tapu.

B112 is really close to the pool, only steps from the 20.22 acre grassy lawn that is the County of Maui’s Waipuilani Park on the ocean.

We love the rattan furnishing and tile floors, it is open and feels very spacious.
If you get the chance to try it, do so , we’re sure you’ll be pleased.

Kokua? What is that?
By Kokua, we mean cooperation, benefit to others, helping hands.
But take a look at this interesting history of the Hawaiian word Kokua which originated in 1866 in it’s latest incarnation, (if there were others before that, I cannot know).
Would you be one of the Na Kokua if your family or friends underwent a similar series of events?
