From Luanakai, you can see the Kaheawa Wind Power energy facility atop Ukumehame ridge to the West. The windfarm was built to supply over 10% of the islands electrical needs and in 2007 generated 125,000 megawatts, replacing 236,000 barrels of oil. The power is sold to the Maui Electric Company, MECO. Since MECO burns oil to provide electricity, windpower is a very welcome green addition to the islands power supply.

Unit B207 is a two bedroom unit on the North West side of the property. It has a partial ocean view as shown below and is spacious and warm and has all the amenities you expect.




Condo B207 is carpeted and tiled. This condo has simple but tasteful decorations and plenty of space. The view of the courtyard, pool and ocean is lovely.

It has been almost a month since we returned and are ready to come back. I cannot say enough good things about our vacation at Luana Kai. It is more beautiful and relaxing than the pictures show. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to direct us to different places to see and things to do. My daughter enjoyed it so much she is talking about having her wedding on Maui, assuming of course that her boyfriend asks her. With the exception of the airfare from New Jersey, vacationing at Luana Kai is cheaper than going to the New Jersey shore for a week which is running about $3,500.00 for the same accommodations beachfront. We will be back. I not sure when, but we will return and recommend to anyone visiting Maui to stay at Luana Kai.
